Pachnoda grubs are the soft-bodied larvae stage of the fruit beetle, Pachnoda marginata. Each grub is approximately 25-35mm long and make a delicious (apparently!) treat for reptiles and insect eating birds. If you’ve never seen one before, they look like giant waxworms. You can purchase these as livefood or, if fed, these will eventually grow into fruit beetles which can be a fun invertebrate project, or suitable for bio-active enclosures.
If feeding as livefood there is no need to gut load pachnoda grubs and they should be stored at room temperature in their peat-filled container, or transferred to a larger container filled with deep peat if you are intending on hatching fruit beetles.
