Light / Heater Guard – Round, Standard

Using a light guard is an essential safety feature of any enclosure. Heat sources get very hot to the touch and reptiles are drawn to the heat source. Their sense of pain is not the same as ours, so they can wrap themselves around heat sources without realizing they are burning themselves, resulting in serious injuries. Whilst this is more common with snakes, lizards can also jump at a light or heat source and knock it, which can injure themselves or damage the fixture. A light guard ensures that no animal can reach the heat source, ensuring their safety.

The size of this round heater guard is Diameter 12cm Height 16cm

This fits the same size bulbs as the Rectangular Standard size, but is for those who prefer the look of the round guard.

This easy open light guard is manufactured by Pro Rep out of powder coated steel, making it lightweight but extremely strong and resistant to heat. The light guard is suitable for spot bulbs, basking bulbs and ceramic bulbs. It is affixed to the top of the tank with 4 secure screws, and contains a hinged bottom opening making it easy to change your light bulb without removal.These have double fasteners ensuring that no animal will accidentally open it and gain access to the heat source.
