Multimammates are an African rodent that closely resembles a mouse or gerbil. It is a suitable feeder for the majority of snakes, but is especially popular with snakes that prefer dark-coloured prey items as the fur is brown. They are one of the most common natural prey items of the Royal / Ball python in the wild, and have a slightly different scent to normal mice. Because of this they can be quite popular with fussy feeding snakes.
