Corn Snake Setup (36 x 24 x 24″)

This setup is ideal for a corn snake, but you can upgrade to a 48x18x18″ or 48x24x24″. Corn snakes love space and will be a more active species if you give them extra space, as well as extra things to explore such as climbing decor. Although corn snakes are described as nocturnal, they are actually known to be crepuscular (active at dawn and dusk) and new research into UV (read our UV guide for a full explanation) has shown that corn snakes can benefit from low level UVB, which is included in our gold setup.

In addition to corn snakes, this setup can be used for a vast amount of colubrids such as rat snakes, milk snakes, king snakes, western hognose snakes and house snakes.

36x24x24″ Corn Snake Setup – Silver – £200

We do not recommend this setup with a heat mat due to the larger size and how inefficient they are so do not offer a bronze option.  Heating with a ceramic is more efficient and can maintain higher temperatures, as well as allowing for burrowing without risking the heat mat being slept on (or under!). Heating from above mimics the way they receive heat in nature, heating the air and surface rather than heating from below.

36x24x24″ Corn Snake Setup – Gold – £300

The gold package not only adds UVB to your setup but also switches the ceramic heater for a deep heat projector with a digital dimming thermostat. This will automatically adjust your temperatures for day and night differences, whilst also providing a bulb that encourages your snakes to bask in the day. Between the deep heat projector and the UVB you have a much higher chance of tempting nocturnal snakes to bask out – just like they would do in the wild when feeling safe on a sunny day. It also upgrades to a digital thermometer for more accurate temperature readings.
