Bioactive Starter Kit

Bioactive refers to a setup that mimics nature, with a natural substrate which is self cleaning and fertilizing through cleaner insects. You still have to remove large clumps of waste or uneaten food, but never change the substrate as the cleaner insects will take bacteria and process it into fertilizer, feeding your plants. The plants in turn will increase the oxygen content of the air, act as a natural filtration system and raise humidity. A bioactive setup is the most natural setup you can create. However, due to the fact that the substrate mimics a forest floor and the humidity is increased, a bioactive setup is not suitable for Desert species.
