Reptile Cymru Boarding Policy for Customers
Good Health Policy – Upon arrival a staff member will provide a visual inspection of the animal, looking for any health anomalies. You should inform us if any anomalies have been witnessed in terms of eating, defecating, shedding, behaviour etc.
If the animal is experiencing any health problems we may need to refuse boarding unless it is something that we feel is minor and unlikely to affect their stay. If you are unsure about this please contact us in advance of the boarding so we can confirm. Our staff can administer medication for an additional charge if a problem has previously been diagnosed.
Veterinary Policy – Whilst your animal is in our care we have a duty to seek veterinary treatment if we believe it is necessary. The veterinarian we will use is Sophie at Origin Vets. If you disagree with this you can nominate your own veterinarian before handing the animal into our care. The charge for this will be £40 per vet visit by our staff plus the full cost of the veterinary visit and treatment. If you have pet insurance you will need to pay for this visit and then claim this back from your insurance. Please confirm with your insurance policy that veterinary treatment is included whilst the animal is in another person’s care.
We will attempt to contact you to inform you of this during your holiday but you cannot decline this treatment or fee as it is our legal responsibility to ensure all animals under our care are healthy.
Late Fees – If you cannot pick the animal up on the nominated date and we are fully booked you will be charged an additional fee of £25 per enclosure being used and regular rate during off peak and double the daily rate during peak rates for an on-going stay. We understand that delays can happen with holidays and have some room for emergencies and try to be flexible where possible, particularly at non-peak times, but we are increasingly finding people are choosing not to pick their animals up on time because our regular charges are so low that they find it more convenient to just wait a few days or even an extra week or more, causing problems for us when we are at capacity. If in doubt of collection time please book an extra few days – you can always pick up early if more convenient.
Abandonment Policy – Your animal must be collected on the agreed upon date unless you have informed us of a valid reason. If an animal is left with us for four weeks or more without contact we will consider it abandoned. We will pursue the four weeks of boarding costs through Small Claims Court and then rehome the animal. You accept that by handing the animal over to us that if you do not contact us for four weeks after the date of return then you are relinquishing ownership of this animal, but you do not relinquish financial responsibility for the four weeks of additional boarding.
Liability Policy – Reptile Cymru does not assume and shall not be held responsible for any liability with respect to the animal listed in this agreement, of any kind, character, or nature whatsoever, arising out of or from the boarding of this animal, or any damages which may accrue from any other cause whatsoever.
