We opened our doors in March 2007 and hope to be here for a long time yet. We are a team who work hard to promote education and animal welfare in the community.
Reptile Cymru is a business member of the Tortoise Trust, the Federation of British Herpetologists, the International Herpetological Society and Cardiff Reptile Association. We believe in fundraising and contributing back to the community and working towards education and conservation, ensuring that reptiles will be available both in the wild, and in captivity, for the future generations.
Ben & Christy:
The owners of Reptile Cymru, Ben & Christy produce hundreds of captive bred hatchlings every year, meaning you can purchase animals that have been with us from day one. Christy specialises in corn snakes, and has been breeding for over 12 years. Her collection of over 50 adults and information on breeding projects can be found, along with her personal extensive caresheet on CWCorns
Ben specialises in Boa Constrictors. He has a wide ranging collection including beautiful morphs such as albino, sunglow, anerythistic, ghost, salmon, pastel and localities boas such as the Hogg Island. If you want to see a big boa and Ben is at work, ask him nicely, and perhaps he will get out Tess for you - she's 10ft long!
Bearded dragons are also a passion and the majority of the dragons sold by Reptile Cymru are bred right here, with the adult collection consisting of a large number of normals, citrus, hypo leucistic, blood red, hypo translucent and leatherbacks. Ben & Christy also breed leopard gecko morphs, and yemen chameleons.
Patricia:
Pat is our resident delivery driver, and our DIY Expert. If you need any help or information about wiring or building your own vivaria, give Pat a shout!
Charlotte:
Charlotte may be our youngest team member but is enthusiastic and dedicated, working towards a veterinary career with a wide range of experience in many animal disciplines.
Phil:
Phil is the newest member of the team and he keeps & breeds crested geckos, leopard geckos, chameleons and amphibians.
